Horde’s Guide to Pilgrim’s Bounty Festival
Pilgrim’s Bounty is a world event that lasts from November 21. to November 27. It coincides with the Thanksgiving Holiday in the United States and is all about cooking and feasting with your friends. It is a cook’s dream holiday and includes food fights, turkey hunting and easy cooking leveling up to 350 skill. The only down side to the whole event is the need to frequently travel in between capital towns.
Important Note no. 1: There are Bountiful tables located near all capital cities that are involved in a number of achievements related to this event. Things you need to know about these tables:
Sit at the Bountiful table (any food type) and use the Pass Food skill until it says that you’ve accidentally hit another player with food. To be able to do this achievement you have to have someone else sitting with you at the table.
Now We’re Cookin’
Buy the Bountiful Cookbook from a Festival vendor or loot it from a nearby Bountiful Barrel. Learn all the recipes found inside and than make one of each newly learned meals.
Pilgrim’s Paunch
Visit and sit at a Bountiful Table in each of the capital cities. You need to sit in all 5 different food type chairs and eat that type of food 5 times at each of the cities to earn the achievement.
Pilgrim’s Peril
You need to go to opposing faction capitals and sit at their Bountiful Tables
Pilgrim’s Progress
Complete every Pilgrim’s Bounty Daily quest (and read the achi description in the meantime 😛 )
Sharing is Caring
Sit on each of the chairs (that represent different food types) at the Bountiful Table and use skill 1 (pass the food around – you need another player to pass the food to, to be able to complete this achievement)
Terokkar Turkey Time
You need to kill Sethekk Hals First Boss while wearing Pilgrim’s Hat and either a Pilgrim’s Dress, Robe, or Attire. (don’t forget to wear the Pilgrim’s items)
The Turkinator
While killing Wild Turkey you get a “Turkey Tracker” buff. When you achieve 40 of those buffs you get “Turkey Triumph” and the achievement done. P.S. Area just south from Scarlet Monastery was ideal for me , lots of Wild Turkeys there.
Turkey Lurkey
You need to shoot rogues of every race by using the Turkey Shooter you get from quests.
–Ripe Tirisfal Pumpkin can be found in Undercity
–Mulgore Sweet Potato can be found in Thunder Bluff
–Wild Turkey hunted in Elwynn Forest or Tirisfal Glades (Area just south of Scarlet Monastery is ideal)
- There are 5 types of chairs to sit in and each type is related to a different type of food
- Once you sit in the chair you get 2 new abilities in your skill bar: Pass food and Eat food
- Eating the same type of food will give you that food’s buff and there is an achievement for getting buffs from all 5 types of food
- You can pass food to players sitting next to you and this works as part of another achievement as well
Pilgrim’s Bounty Achivements
Food FightPilgrim’s Bounty Quests
One thing you should know is that some of the reagents needed for some of these quests are located in different capital towns. –Tangy Southfury Cranberries can only be found in OrgrimmarHorde quest list (follow the links to full quest walkthroughs with screenshots)
- Pilgrim’s Bounty
- Spice Bread Stuffing
- Daily: We’re Out of Cranberry Chutney Again?
- Daily: She Says Potato
- Sharing a Bountiful Feast
- Pumpkin Pie
- Cranberry Chutney
- Daily: Can’t Get Enough Turkey
- Daily: Don’t Forget The Stuffing!
- Candied Sweet Potatoes
- Easy As Pie
- Undersupplied in the Undercity
- Slow-roasted Turkey

The patch that does nothing, but changes everything
4.0.3 Patch has hit the servers and it brings no changes Per Se. What it does do is pave the road for the world changing patch 4.0.3a. In the meantime we can enjoy fixed Blood Elf dance animation and flapping of wings of Drake mounts… The interesting fixes are introduction of “Lag Tolerance” option in the game options menu that can help with precision of spell timing. Also, for people with higher resolution monitors UI scale has been changed to 1:1 pixel to texel ratio, which will result in smaller UI for people with biog monitors.
You can read the full patch notes after the jump

Patching WoW from 3.3.0 to 4.0.0
If you are like me and are returning to World of Warcraft after a prolonged absence you have noticed that patching your client to the lates version will take some serious download power. Blizzard’s torrent based downloader takes way too long. I tried finding a way to patch my old client to the latest version by other means and it did not go without trouble. Here’s how I did it.
The biggest problem with the latest patches is that Blizzard completely changed the way the client gets patched and how we play the game. With the new Cataclysm launcher they have intorduced means of playing the game although you do not have the full 12GB+ client downloaded. Data will be downloaded in the background while you play. Just to enable this feature you have to first patch your client up to 4.0.0 version of the game and launcher. This involves grabbing ~5GB of data.
1. I went to http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors to try and find a site that hosts patch files that I can download while avoiding torrent downloads. I went to one of the sites listed in the “3.3.x → 4.0.1.12911 Parts 1-4 — Full (~4.9-5.3 GiB)” section. These sites hold all of the files that need to be downloaded. The files I ended up with at the end are:
- WoW-3.3.0.10958-4.0.0.12911-EU-Stage-1
- WoW-3.3.0.10958-4.0.0.12911-EU-Stage-2
- WoW-3.3.0.10958-4.0.0.12911-EU-Stage-3
- WoW-x.x.x.x-4.0.0.12911-Updater
Hello world!
Welcome to a brand new World of Warcraft fansite – WoW Life. Fansite you say; don’t we have enough of those already? Yes we do, but we wanted to try and give you something different or better than others. We love what all the other sites do for the WoW community, but we had some ideas that we wanted to present ourselves. There are guides that have not been written and walkthroughs that we want to share with you, and unlike some we don’t want to charge for them – just your regular FFA fansite. Who are we to be so bold and offer you advice? We are three friends that have been playing WoW since release (which we celebrated by an epic gaming party that lasted for 3 days non stop leveling. While one was sleeping other was playing and vice versa), and we are excited with the upcoming Cataclysm expansion so much that we started this site to aid you in your exploration of the new, shattered lands.
Some of us have not played non stop for the past 6 years and like many of you feel lost in the reinvented game Blizzard is releasing with the expansion. We will try and share our exploration experiences with you as we go through content in form of our unique quest database with screenshot walkthroughs. We will also try to provide instance, event, quest chain guides and walkthroughs with screenshots and videos as often as possible. To top it all of we’ll try and keep up with the most important news from World of Warcraft.
Lokesh
Man of a thousand alts, hundreds of lvl 80s and gazillions of gold pieces, Lokesh is a true force of nature when it comes to playing WoW. With zealot like dedication to leveling he tears through content like a beast and has leveled so many time to top level that he does it faster than anyone else we know. At the same time he enjoys the economic aspect of the game and making WoW gold has become child’s play for him. I swear, the man makes gold while sleeping.
Mikro
On and off WoW veteran that leveled his beloved Shaman Proudhoof to 60 among the first 100 players on his first realm, Shattered Hand (EU). After countless Molten Core raids he tried some priest leveling and never looked back. Helping kill Nefarian was the last 2 month effort he really participated in and Burning Crusade did not sit well with him. Wrath of the Lich King did make him come back to WoW and do some epicness, but why we really keep him around is because he can do PHP.
